ABOUT US

TAAMMI is a non-profit independent organisation, run by a committee of 9 with up to 40 members. Our aim is to promote creativity in a social setting sharing ideas and knowledge whilst all the time evolving and gaining skills from various tutors. We have beginners to more experienced creative members who are willing to share their knowledge.

A journal making social day.

Our social day meetings are usually held on the first Saturday of each month from 9.30 am to 3.00pm at Melville Guides Hall, on the corner of Kitchener St and Stock Road Melville. We usually learn a new technique each month. Sometimes it is textile based and other times it will be mixed media. We encourage people to use supplies they already own and occasionally provide or share supplies related to the class.  A lot of the techniques we learn can be used with various media, either paper or textiles. We encourage experimentation and having fun.

Our rope bowl workshop.

Usually 3 times a year we run 1 or 2 day workshops with a tutor so we have more time to explore or complete a project. There are additional photos in our gallery.

TAAMMI has its own library, as well as materials and equipment which can be used by members. New books and magazines are purchased for the library each year.  Members can borrow books and equipment for a month.  We are always keen to learn new techniques and conduct our own workshops as well as inviting outside tutors.

We made our own silk screens using fusible vinyl.

The annual membership fee is currently $55 with discount for concession card holders. There is a $6 door fee each month as well.

If you have any further questions please send an email to secretary.taammi@mail.tidyhq.com and we will contact you promptly.
